Starting off as a new personal trainer can be pretty overwhelming.  But starting off as a new personal trainer in Ascot was extremely daunting for new PT Harry!  There’s several steps to take before becoming a bonafide personal trainer.  Here’s the main ones:

Qualifications

Qualifications are a key part of the process and you need them before you start out.  The entry level to start out as a personal trainer in Ascot is a Level 2 Gym Instructors, which is what Harry has done, with HFE who are a education company.  Passing the level 2 allows you to do the Level 3 Personal trainers course.  Passing this is seen as the acceptable standard of expertise required to practive on your own as a PT.  Outside of these basic qualifications there are many other niches you can dive into to become an expert in specific areas.  However, it is important to keep up to date and to keep your knowledge evolving in order to keep up wirth the fitness world.

Gaining Clients and Retaining Clients

Gaining new clients is obvisouly an important part of the business.  We are constantly discussing different ways to do this.  Lots of personal trainers spend a lot of time on this part of their business.  Just as important as gaining clients is keeping them. Retaining clients is essential if you want it to be your job.  That’s why I spend a lot of time planning how I’m going to deliver sessions as I’d like this to be my full time job :).
